BD for ensuring immigrant rights in Post-2015 agendas : Momen

Bangladesh Permanent Representative to United Nations (UN) Dr A K Abdul Momen said Bangladesh wants to ensure the immigrant rights in the Post-2015 agendas.
"We want safe immigration, prestigious immigration and also want to ensure the immigration right in the Post-2015 agendas," he said while addressing at the UN high level debate to mark the international immigration day, said a release in the capital on Thursday, reports BSS.
Mentioning that nearly 8.5million (85 lakh) Bangladeshis are now working in different countries worldwide, Momen said Bangladesh has performed excellently in last three decades in the systematic development of immigration process, especially digitisation databank of labourers and development of skilled workforces.
The Bangladesh representative said working environments in any country has to develop for the sake of that country's national development.
He emphasised on strong participation in local, national, regional and international levels to turn the immigrants into skilled so that both the countries could be benefited by them.
Dr Momen called upon to all to strengthen the legal process for the effective utilization of global human resources in both national and international levels.
