BD, Nepal seek to work together to address post-LDC challenges

Bangladesh and Nepal on Sunday stressed the need for working together to address challenges they would face upon graduating from the Least Developed Country (LDC) status, reports UNB.

Both sides agreed to strengthen their relations and promote regional cooperation.

These issues were discussed at a meeting between Ambassador of Nepal Ghanshyam Bhandari and Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud at the latter's office in the city.

The Foreign Minister underlined the need for expanding cooperation in the economic and power sectors for the betterment of the peoples of the two countries.

He also expressed his satisfaction at the increasing momentum of bilateral engagements between Bangladesh and Nepal.

Nepalese Ambassador Bhandari congratulated the foreign minister and expressed happiness over the existing friendly relations between the two countries.

He also appreciated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for accomplishing unprecedented socio-economic advancement in the past fifteen years.

The envoy mentioned that the excellent relations at the political and people-to-people levels further may be strengthened in the areas like trade, connectivity, energy, tourism and education, among others.

They also discussed regional and international issues of mutual interest.

The Nepalese Ambassador extended invitation to Hasan on behalf of the Foreign Minister of Nepal to visit Nepal.
