Bangladesh is interested to be a 'pilot country' in the Inclusive and Sustainable Industrial Development (ISID) Forum of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO).
Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu expressed the willingness while addressing a plenary session of the 2nd international conference on 'Partnerships to scale up investment for inclusive and sustainable industrial development' of UNIDO in Vienna on Wednesday, according to a message, reports BSS.
The minister said there is no alternative to boosting investment in the industrial sector to achieve the post-2015 development agenda.
He also stressed for strengthening investment partnerships as well as transfer of green technology among the UNIDO member countries.
The minister observed that the ISID Programme of the UNIDO is a time-befitting initiative that can contribute to poverty alleviation through resource-efficient green economy.
