Beijing Fair sees deals worth $81.83b

BEIJING, June 4 (Xinhuanet): A total of 236 deals worth US$81.83 billion were signed during the third annual China (Beijing) International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), which concluded on June 1, 2014.

A total of $35.5 billion were inked for projects in the international service trade, accounting for 43.4 per cent of the total turnover, up 29.6 per cent from 2013. This indicates that the Beijing Fair is playing an important role in promoting cooperation among international service trade businesses.

The five-day event saw 2,524 exhibiting enterprises participate from 117 countries and regions, 624 more than in 2013.

Approved by the State Council, the event was established in 2012 and serves as a state-level, international and comprehensive fair for trade in services.
