Benapole port sees rise in revenue collection

BENAPOLE, July 1 (UNB) : Revenue income at Benapole land port has exceeded the target for the first time in the outgoing fiscal 2014-15, said sources.

Benapole customs sources said the port authorities increased the prices of the imported goods for collecting taxes and imposed a strict rule for examining products.

Besides, import through the land port decreased due to strict monitoring for checking tax evasion and high tariff. Customs commissioner of Benapole Port AFM Abdullah Khan said the port has been operating its activities with transparency .
