MADARIPUR, Dec 23 (BSS): Bhutan would supply stone for construction of the much-awaited Padma Bridge at Mawa-Janjira point, Bhutanese Ambassador in Dhaka Pema Choden said here today.
"Bhutan supplied stone for construction of Bangabandhu Bridge over the Jamuna river. This time we would supply stone for the Padma Bridge....we are capable of supplying stone for the big projects in Bangladesh," she told journalists.
The Bhutanese envoy said Padma Bridge is one of the largest projects in Bangladesh which will connect 21 southern districts with rest of the country.

Mentioning the existing Dhaka-Thimphu cordial ties, Pema Choden said the Bhutanese President had recently visited Bangladesh to remember Bhutan's recognition to Bangladesh as an independent state on December 6 in 1971.
The Bhutanese envoy came to Madaripur today to attend a function of the staff of Bhutanese embassy in remote Bhutirbari area under Sadar Upazila of the district. The staff of the Bhutanese embassy reside in Bhutirbari village.
