CHATTOGRAM, Oct 1: The Bangladesh Infrastructure Finance Fund Ltd. (BIFFL), a non-banking financial institution under the Ministry of Finance, will hold a three-day 'BIFFL Green & PPP Convention and Expo' in the port city from October 5.
The event will focus on energy-efficient project funding and raising awareness about environment.
The Expo 2018 will be held at the GEC Convention Centre. Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain will inaugurate the expo as the chief guest.
Chittagong City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin, CDA Chairman Abdus Salam, Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Mahbubul Alam and senior financial sector specialist of the World Bank AKM Abdullah will address the inaugural function as special guests.
Executive Director and CEO of BIFFL SM Farmanul Islam will deliver the welcome speech, with Deputy Commissioner of Chattogram Md Elias Hossain in the chair.
Farmanul Islam announced the programme at a press conference at Chattogram Press Club on Monday.
He said Jalsiri Abason Project of the Bangladesh Army, City Bank, City Capital Ltd., BSRM, Max Infrastructure, Desh Energy Ltd, Nagorik TV, Bangla Track Power Ltd, Royal Tulip Sea Pearl, Sanmar Properties, Exilon Engineering, Mission Asia Power, Uniclean Technology, Premier University, Southern University and Surgicare will participate in the fair.
The main objective of the Expo 2018, the first ever in Chittagong, is to make people aware about the environment and environment-friendly construction technology that will lead to savings in fuel and promote a balanced development of infrastructure in the country, he added.
The BIFFL official said although the BIFFL is a small financial organisation, it is playing an important role in the country's large infrastructure, investment in the PPP (public private partnership) sector and sustainable development.
