BKB, RAKUB have 1,404 branches in country, Muhith tells JS

Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith said Wednesday Bangladesh Krishi Bank (BKB) and Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) have been working through 1,404 branches across the country for the development of the agriculture sector, reports BSS.

"The BKB has 1,028 branches across the country excepting Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions," he told the House while replying to a question of treasury bench member M Shibly Sadique.

Besides, the RAKUB has been working in Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions through 376 branches, Mr Muhith said.

He added, "We don't have any plan to open a RAKUB branch at Aftabganj Bazar under Nawabganj upazila in Dinajpur district at this moment due to shortage of manpower."
