The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) has formed a high-powered committee to monitor the marketing and services and other issues relating to Bangabandhu Satellite-1, officials said.
Md Nojibur Rahman, principal secretary to the prime minister, has been made the chairman of the nine-member committee.
The committee members are secretaries of the PMO, Post and Telecommunications division, information ministry, ICT division and finance division, and chairmen of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) and Bangladesh Communication Satellite Company Limited (BCSCL), according to an office order issued by the PMO recently. The managing director of BCSCL will act as the member secretary of the committee. The committee will also give necessary suggestions and directions to the satellite operating company, BCSCL, in this connection.
