BSTI files cases against five shops


Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) on Sunday filed cases against five shops in the city on charge of manipulating weight and measurement.
The cases were lodged during the drive conducted by the BSTI surveillance team in the city's Dhanmondi and Mohammadpur areas under the "Standards of Weights and Measures Bill, 2018". BSTI Assistant Director Md Rezaul Karim led the drive.
Saiham Sweets at Mirpur Road was charged for not keeping verification certificates of weight measuring instruments and not attaching production and expiry dates with the goods.
M/S New Singapore Jewellers, M/S The Suveccha Jewellers, M/S Maa Jewelers and M/S Priyanka Cloth Store of Mohammadpur area faced cases for manipulation in weight measurement.
