BSTI services to remain open at weekends to help importers
Industries Secretary Md Obaidur Rahman speaks at a stakeholder public hearing at the headquarters of the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) in Tejgaon, Dhaka, on Saturday. In a move to ensure the rapid clearance of imported goods and protect businesses from port demurrage charges, he directed the BSTI to keep its relevant services operational even at weekends. Additionally, BSTI officials have been instructed to issue clearances for imported products in even less time than the duration specified in the Citizen's Charter. Director General (Additional Charge) of BSTI, M. A. Kamal Billah, presided over the event.
