BTCL takes initiatives for land phone protection

Bangladesh Telecomm-unications Company Limited (BTCL) has undertaken a set of measures for the protection of land phones in competition with mobile phones, reports BSS.

State Minister for Posts and Telecommunications Begum Tarana Halim disclosed this in the Jatiya Sangsad Thursday while replying to a question from Haji Mohammad Selim.

She said that the BTCL is installing optical fibre under '290 upazila optical fibre network improvement project' aimed at materializing digital Bangladesh, adding, "Through the project the government would reach modern telecommunication services along with internet facilities to the door step of the people."
