CCC to repair and develop 108km roads

CHITTAGONG, Dec 26: The ECNEC has approved a road development and repair project of Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) at a cost of Tk 3.82 billion.

The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) approved the revised project at its meeting in Dhaka, with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.

CCC chief executive officer Md Shamsuddoha said that the CCC will develop and repair 108.50 kilometres of the city roads at a cost of Tk 3.43 billion and procure equipments worth Tk 280 million under the project.

The CCC had earlier sent a proposal to the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (LGRD), seeking approval to a project worth Tk 6.30 billion.

But the Ministry sent it back to the CCC for revision and the CCC sent the revised cost of the project.
