President of the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCCI) demanded immediate repair of the roads in the port city to reduce sufferings of city dwellers and create business friendly atmosphere there.
CCCI president, Mahbubul Alam, in a statement, said scattered digging of roads by different agencies of the government has occurred immense sufferings to the city dwellers, which should immediately be repaired.
"Recent digging of roads of the city by T&T, WASA and other agencies in different areas of the city has created immense predicaments to the city dwellers and is hampering normal business activities," Mr Alam said in the statement.
The CCCI president also urged the government to take immediate steps to build Chittagong as an organised business city in the country.
He said scattered diggings of roads are creating serious gridlock in the city hampering regular activities in business and regular activity of the city dwellers.
"Chittagong is one of the busiest cities in the country, so all the concerned agencies including Chittagong City Corporation should take special efforts to address the issue soon," the statement added.
In the statement, the CCCI president urged the government to take steps brighten the image of the commercial city while building it in a planned way.
