CCCI election to be held on May 23

CHATTOGRAM, May 19: The long-awaited election of the board of directors of the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) for the 2025-27 term will now be held on May 23.
Director of the Local Government Department in Chattogram and Chairman of the Election Board Monowara Begum announced the fresh schedule.
Earlier, the election was slated for April 4, but it was suspended due to "unavoidable reasons."
On September 2 in 2024, the committee of CCCI resigned. All 24 directors of CCCI, including President Omar Hajjaz, submitted the resignation letters to the ministry.
The ministry appointed the administrator of CCCI on September 9 in 2024. An election schedule was initially announced on August 11, with the voting date set for November 1 in 2025. The election was suspended on October 30 just two days before it was scheduled to take place.
