CCCI opens 'fair price' outlet

CCCI President Mahbubul Alam along with other CCCI leaders inaugurated a 'fair price' outlet in front of its office at Agrabad in Chattogram on Monday.
CHATTOGRAM, Apr 04: The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) has opened a 'fair price' outlet to sell essentials at subsidised rates during Ramadan.
CCCI President Mahbubul Alam inaugurated the outlet on Monday in front of its office at Agrabad area in the port city.
Vice President of CCCI Sayed Mohammed Tanvir, directors of CCCI Ahid Siraj Chowdhury Swapon, Anjan Shekhar Das, Md Omar Faruque, Hasnat Md Abu Obaida, Shahjada Md. Fouzul Alef Khan, Iftekhar Hosen, Shajir Ahmed, Mohammed Adnanul Islam, SM Tahsin Junaid, Tanveer Mostafa Chowdhury, and Mohammed Nasirul Alam were present at the inaugural function.
Addressing the function, Mahbubul Alam said the wholesale traders keep the essentials at their warehouses before supplying to the retail markets. This is part of a supply chain.
He called upon the traders and business owners not to hike the prices of essentials at will during the holy month of Ramadan.
He also requested the administration not to harass the businesspeople unnecessarily in the name of drive against price hike.
