CCCI urges KSA businessmen to invest in BD

The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCCI) has called upon the Saudi businessmen to invest in Bangladesh's potential sectors like oil, medicine and readymade garment (RMG).
The call was made by a trade team of CCCI during its recent visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) where the delegation exchanged views on bilateral issues, investment and exchange of delegation with Jeddah, Mecca and Madina chambers of commerce and industry.
Leader of the team and CCCI President Mahbubul Alam in a statement issued on Monday termed the visit fruitful and expressed his optimism that the visit will help intensify bilateral trades between the two friendly countries in the coming days.
Terming the relation between Bangladesh and the KSA 1400 years old, he said they sought the KSA investment in sectors like medicine, oil and RMG and informed the KSA business leaders about the business-friendly atmosphere now prevails in Bangladesh.
The trade team returned to Bangladesh on Saturday (February 15) last after holding one-to-one meetings with Saudi businessmen and investors and exchanging views with expatriates Bangladeshis.
During the visit, the CCCI team also discussed various issues relating to problems and prospects of Bangladeshis who are working there.
Members of the delegation include CCCI Senior Vice President Md Nurun Newaz, directors Md Ahid Siraj Chowdhury and Md Morshed, former directors Md Habibul Haque and Md Alamgir Parvez, members Md Maksudur Rahman, Faridul Alam, Jamila Mahbub and Farhana Doula and Chief Executive Osman Gani Chowdhury.
