CHICAGO, Apr 18 (Xinhua) : Chicago agricultural commodity futures were traded mixed Thursday, with corn and soybeans prices down while wheat price up.
The most active corn contract for July delivery fell 3 US cents, or 0.60 per cent, to settle at 5.005 dollars per bushel. July wheat rose 3.75 cents, or 0.54 per cent, to settle at 6.99 dollars per bushel. July soybeans fell 6.5 cents, or 0.43 per cent, to close at 15.0225 dollars per bushel.
A late rally in soybeans trimmed losses and highlighted the idea that traders don't want to be short the market, particularly ahead of a three-day holiday weekend. For weeks, traders have been bracing for a report that showed large cancellations of soybeans imports from China, the world's top buyer of the oilseed.
