Citi Awards ceremony today

The Award Giving Ceremony of 10th Citi Microentrepreneurship Awards, funded by Citi Foundation, philanthropic arm of Citigroup and managed by Citibank, N.A., Bangladesh in collaboration with Credit and Development Forum (CDF), will be held today (Saturday) at 11.00 am at  Bangabandhu International Conference Center Agargaon in the city. M. Abdul Mannan, MP, State Minister, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Planning will be present as the Chief Guest. Chair of this event, Mrs. Rokia Afzal Rahman, former advisor to the Caretaker Government and distinguished member of the 10th CMA Advisory Council, along with Regina Seow, Managing Director, Corporate Affairs & Corporate Citizenship, Asia Pacific will also remain present at the program. For the 10th consecutive time, Citi Foundation has funded the Microentrepreneurship Awards program as part of Citi's ongoing commitment to the field of microfinance.  The objective of the program is to highlight the achievements of some of the most innovative microentrepreneurs in Bangladesh.The Microentrepreneurship Awards program that Citi started in 2005 is a resounding success. The program's greatest success is the increasing global awareness of the important role that microentrepreneurs play in their local economies and the significance of microfinance as a tool in poverty alleviation.
