Citizen Portal major source of info on public procurement

Citizen Portal or Sorkary Kroy Batayan is an important step towards increasing citizen participation in public procurement.

The Citizen Portal is now a major source of public procurement information. The latest district-wise information on invitation of tenders and award of contracts is available on this portal.

It has given citizens an opportunity to easily know various aspects of public procurement.

Participants made such observations at a workshop on citizens' engagement in public procurement in the city on Wednesday, says a press release.

The workshop was organised by the newly-established Bangladesh Public Procurement Authority (BPPA). Dnet, a consulting firm engaged by BPPA, facilitated the workshop.

Secretary of IMED Abul Kashem Md. Mohiuddin spoke as the chief guest in the workshop. BPPA Chief Executive Officer Moha-mmed Shoheler Rahman Chowdhury presided over the workshop. The event was organised under the Digitising Implementation Monitoring and Public Procurement Project (DIMAPPP) of BPPA supported by the World Bank.
