Clean energy summit begins in city Mar 10


Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL), a state-run non-banking financial institution, is going to organise an international conference titled 'Bangladesh Clean Energy Summit 2019' to accelerate the transition towards clean and sustainable economy.
Finance Minister A H M Mustafa Kamal is expected to inaugurate the two-day summit on March 10 at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in the capital, said a statement on Wednesday.
The summit on March 10-11 would mainly focus on energy efficiency, renewable energy, green building and green finance.
Industry professionals from manufacturing and services, technology suppliers and traders, trade associations and bodies, financial institutions, development partners, government bodies and policymakers, foreign dignitaries, academics and researchers will attend the conference.
Executive Director & CEO of IDCOL Mahmood Malik said that about one hundred stalls will be set up in the summit and the exhibitors will get the opportunity to create visibility for their brands, gain insights from leading industry experts, build new relationships and generate leads, showcase their products and services, consolidate contacts with their buyers and business partners.
According to a report of International Finance Corporation (IFC), Bangladesh has US$ 132 billion of climate smart investment opportunity from 2018 to 2030 in renewable energy, energy efficiency and green building.
