Community Bank Bangladesh PLC, in collaboration with AmraNari, organised a cancer and health awareness seminar, marking World Cancer Day.
The seminar was held at the bank's head office on Tuesday, with participation of female officials of the head office and various branches in Dhaka.
The session featured distinguished medical experts including Dr. Md. Khademul Bashar, Assistant Professor at the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Mohakhali, Dhaka, and Dr. Bushra Noor Al Chowdhury, MBBS, MS (Surgical Oncology), Assistant Professor, Department of Surgery at the National Institute of Cancer Research and Hospital (NICRH), Dhaka.
In his remarks, Dr. Md. Khademul Bashar said, "Cancer is no longer merely a medical issue; it is a significant public health challenge. Early detection, regular health check-ups, and a healthy lifestyle can play a vital role in prevention. With timely and appropriate treatment, many cases of cancer can be cured."
Dr. Bushra Noor Al Chowdhury said, "Timely identification of blood disorders and cancer-related complications can save lives. No symptom should be ignored. Necessary diagnostic tests and consultation with specialists are crucial. Awareness and regular screening remain our strongest defense."

Speaking at the event, M M Zahidur Rahman Biplob, Founder of AmraNari, said that the organisation is a non-political, non-profit social platform working towards women's empowerment, social welfare, and humanitarian development. He added that the seminar reflects their continued efforts in promoting health awareness and building a compassionate and informed society.
The seminar highlighted the importance of early detection and prevention of cancer, modern treatment technologies, timely diagnosis, and lifestyle-related risk factors. The organisers reaffirmed their commitment to continuing such awareness programmes in the future to promote public health and social responsibility.
