Concord launches new green block plant

Concord Group inaugurated its fifth green block plant at a ceremony at a city hotel on Wednesday.
It has established the new plant in Gojaria, Munshiganj, to help meet the increasing demand for environmentally friendly bricks in the country, says a press release.
The new addition of the fifth block plant, a German machine Zenith ZN-900C, can produce 74,000 pieces of building materials in 8-hour cycle.
This machine is estimated to increase Concord's production capacity by 30per cent-40 per cent.
This machine utilizes advanced technology which is expected to bring a new dimension to the block-making industry of Bangladesh.
The first and second plant of Concord use Poyatos P70/90 machines from Spain. These plants can produce 59,520 units of building materials in 8-hour cycle.
A T-10 machine from Germany is used in the third plant where 26,080 units of building materials can be produced in 8 hours. And the machine used in the fourth plant, Besser, was made in the USA which can produce 12,000 units of building materials in 8 hours.
