Commerce minister Tofail Ahmed Sunday put emphasis on coordination among different government organisations during conducting research, reports BSS.
"Different organisations carry-out research on the similar issues separately, but if they do the job through proper coordination it would help save time and money," he added while addressing a workshop as the chief guest.
Bangladesh Tariff Commission (BTC) organised the workshop at its auditorium to finalise the questioners and process of the research titled "Problems and Prospects of IT & IT Enabled Services Outsourcing in Bangladesh".
Tofail Ahmed said the government has highly prioritised the IT in the seventh five year plan to grab the highest benefit from the sector.
"Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had dreamed the independence of Bangladesh and we did it in 1971.
Besides, his daughter prime minister Sheikh Hasina not only told us about "Digital Bangladesh" rather she has made it reality.
Now, she (prime minister) is working to turn Bangladesh into a middle income country by 2021 and developed one by 2041," he added.
The minister urged all political parties to work together to take the country towards desired destination.
Lauding the contribution of BTC in protecting local products and industries, Mr Ahmed stressed establishing coordination between the BTC and National Board of Revenue (NBR).
Senior secretary of Commerce Ministry Hedayetullah Al Mamoon was present on the occasion as the special guest with BTC chairman Dr M Azizur Rahman in the chair.
Mr Mamoon put emphasis on quality education for healthier human resources.
BTC assistant chief Mamun Askari made a presentation on the research activities and procedures.
