CTO Forum to start Sept 8

The 54th council and five-day annual forum of Commonwealth Telecommunication Organi-sation (CTO) will be started in the city on September 8 with the tagline of "ICTs for Development - from Access to Inclusive and Innovative Services", said a statement.

One of the most prestigious summit of telecommunication is popularly known as CTO Forum. Bangladesh Telecommunication Regul-atory Commission (BTRC) will host the programme this year at the Radisson Blue Water Garden Hotel.

The Telecommunication and Information Technology ministers, secretaries, Regulatory Commission head and other related officials in the sector are expected to attend the summit.

CTO forum is the most important platform for the commonwealth member countries.

The experts in respective field will discuss on different issues, like- mobile broadband regulation, cyber security and crime prevention, next generation network, content and application development, climate change, internet protocol (IP) technology, satellite broadband, telecom regulatory frame work, ICT for education and youth, green technology and others related issues in telecom sector. There are five companies will get opportunities from Bangladesh to sponsor the event. The BASE Technologies is the lanyard sponsor, launch sponsor Robi Axiata, Airtel Bangladesh, Banglalink Digital Communication Limited and Citycell (Pacific Bangladesh Telecom Limited) will provide diner sponsor.
