CVASU unveils Tk 163.4 million budget

CHITTAGONG, June 28 (BSS): The Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) authorities announced Saturday a Tk 163.4 million (16.34 crore) budget for the fiscal year 2014-15.
The budget was placed at the 26th Syndicate Meeting of CVASU held with Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof. Dr AS Mahfuzul Bari in the chair at his office.
Of the total budget, University Grants Commission (UGC) will provide Tk 154.8 million while the remaining TK 8.6 million would be available from CVASU's own fund.
Sources said, of the budget expenditure, Tk 101.5 million would be spent for salary and other allowances for the teachers and employees, TK 21.6 million for general incidental expenditure,
TK 23.6 million for educational expenditure, Tk 8.0 million for repair, preservation and rehabilitation and TK 8.7 million for procurement or purchase of assets.
A revised budget involving Tk 147.2 million for the fiscal year 2012-2013 was also approved in the budget session.
CVASU Director (Finance and accounts) Mohammad Abul Kalam placed the budget while CVASU treasurer Dr Soumen Dewan, UGC Member Prof Dr Akhter Hossain, VC of Port City International
University Prof Dr Nurul Anwar and deans of different faculties of CVASU, among others, attended the budget session.
