The agreements were signed with Guangdong Chamber of Commerce of Importers & Exporters (GDCCIE), China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronics Products (CCCME), and Guangzhou Chamber of Commerce for Outbound Business, said a press release.

DCCI Senior Vice President Razeev H Chowdhury signed the agreements on behalf of DCCI, along with representatives from the Chinese chambers.

They held business meetings and shared information with about 270 Chinese companies.

Speaking at the event, Razeev H Chowdhury said China is a major force in global trade and a leading producer of goods. Bangladesh imports a large amount from China, about $18 billion last year.

China is also the fifth-largest foreign investor in Bangladesh, with around $1.7 billion invested in different sectors.

He said there is strong potential for cooperation in areas like agro-processing, infrastructure, renewable energy, shipbuilding, automotive, light engineering, semiconductors, and high-tech industries.

He also mentioned opportunities in startups, fintech, agri-tech, artificial intelligence, robotics, biotechnology, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and supply chains.

At the event, CCPIT Director Mr Qiu said Nansha is an important economic area in China, with a GDP of over RMB 240 billion in 2025.

He sees good chances for joint work in industries like automobiles, shipbuilding, and biomedicine.

Wu Shaowei, President of GDCCIE, said Bangladesh can help Chinese products reach South Asian markets and stressed stronger business ties.

Shi Yonghong, Vice President of CCCME, said the Canton Fair is an important platform for global business and will help improve cooperation between Bangladeshi and Chinese companies.
