Bangladesh Denim Expo is going to be held in the city in May, after two years of suspension due to Covid-19 pandemic, aiming to help buyers and suppliers to explore new opportunity.
The 12th edition of the two-day exhibition will take place at the International Convention City, Bashundhara (ICCB) in the capital on May 10-11, says a statement.
A total of 79 exhibitors, including local and international ones, will join the event, it said.
"Beyond Business" is the theme of this year's exposition, which is expected to open up new opportunities for successful and sustainable business.
At the two-day event, exhibitors will display fabrics, garment, threads, machinery, finishing equipment and accessories, positioning the show as a true representation of Bangladesh's denim industry - the largest denim exporter to the EU and the USA, organiser said in the statement.
Through a series of product displays, seminar sessions and panel discussions, the expo will encourage robust interaction among exhibitors and visitors, it added.
There will be eight seminars and two panel discussions at the expo.
Founder and chief executive officer of Bangladesh Denim Expo Mostafiz Uddin said: "The world is a slightly different place since the last edition of this show, which took place two years ago. Denim supply chains have experienced major turbulence and disruption and have been forced to innovate and adapt in order to survive and remain relevant."
"The (coronavirus) pandemic has forced suppliers to double-down on sustainability issues. That is what global consumers are demanding in the post-pandemic world, and this message is being passed down the supply chains through fashion brands and retailers," he said.
The show will act as a lightening rod on these issues, bringing together all the denim stakeholders from across the globe under one roof, he added.
