The Planning Ministry will organise a 'development fair' in the city aimed at ensuring participation of the general people in the government's development process, officials said Tuesday.
Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said the Development Fair 2014 would reflect voice of the people from all walks of life for framing the upcoming Seventh Five-Year Plan.
Presided over by the Planning Minister, a meeting at the ministry Tuesday took the decision to organise the fair, expected to be held in the last week of August or in early September this year.
The fair could be held for three to five days, Mr Mustafa Kamal said.
"We will hold discussion with all groups of people in the society. And we will incorporate their suggestions and advice for the next five-year plan for ensuring sustainable development of the country," he said.
The General Economics Division (GED) of the Planning Commission has already started works to frame the 7th Five-Year Plan for the financial year (FY) 2014-15 to FY2018-19.
Mr Mustafa Kamal said they would invite different professional, business and social groups in the 'development fair' for discussion on the upcoming development policy of the country that would be reflected in the next plan.
