The Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry unveils the second edition of 'DCCI Journal of Business and Economic Policy' and the 'Tax Guide 2025-26' at a simple ceremony at the DCCI auditorium in the capital on Monday.
The Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) unveiled the second edition of 'DCCI Journal of Business and Economic Policy (DJBEP)' and the 'Tax Guide 2025-26', two of its own publications, at a simple ceremony on Monday at the DCCI Auditorium in the capital, reports BSS.
Secretary, Ministry of Commerce Mahbubur Rahman, attended the event as the chief guest while Chairman of the Policy Research Institute of Bangladesh (PRI) & Chief Editor of the Journal Dr. Zaidi Sattar and Member (Tax Administration & Human Resource Management) of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) G M Abul Kalam Kaikobad were present as the special guests.
Mahbubur Rahman, Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, noted that although Bangladesh has undertaken various initiatives to boost economic growth in recent years, the country's overall economy has not yet reached the desired level which leaves ample room for further improvement, said a press release on Tuesday.
Acknowledging DCCI's research efforts, he said that through targeted studies and publications on issues such as 'Rules of Origin' and other trade-related matters, DCCI can play an even more proactive role in advancing the country's economy.
Dr. Zaidi Sattar, Chairman of PRI, stated that recent reports from various research institutions indicate an alarming rise in poverty levels in Bangladesh, which is a concern for the state of the overall economy.
He opined that expanding employment opportunities would help reverse this trend, adding that greater focus on export-oriented industrialization is essential in this regard.
