Eng Belayet Hossain new chief of CDA

CHATTOGRAM, June 12: Engineer Belayet Hossain has been appointed as chairman of the Chattogram Development Authority (CDA).

He was appointed to the post for one year in a notice signed by Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration Md. Golam Rabbani on Thursday

(June 11).

The notification of the Ministry of Public Administration said that in accordance with Section 7 (1) of the CDA Act, 2018, Engineer Belayet Hossain has been appointed as the Chairman (Grade-2) of the CDA for a period of one year from the date of joining on the condition that he will not engage in any other profession, business or employment relationship with any government, semi-government or private institution/organisation.

In his immediate reaction after being appointed as chairman of CDA, Engineer Belayet Hossain said, "I seek blessings from everyone. The party has evaluated me. I will fulfill the responsibility of developing Chattogram."

Engineer Belayet Hossain's village is in Sandwip Upazila of Chattogram. He was a BNP candidate from the Chattogram -3 (Sandwip) constituency in the last parliamentary election. Engineer Belayet is the former joint convener of Chattogram North District of BNP.
