BRUSSELS, Aug 7 (Xinhua): The European Union (EU) and Canada on Wednesday finished negotiations on the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), said an EU official statement.
Following last October's breakthrough on the political issues regarding the free trade agreement with Canada, the negotiators have now finished their work and reached a complete outcome.
The text is being read by the EU Member States and the Canadian Provinces and Territories, and it will be formally concluded in September when an EU-Canada Summit is being planned.
The CETA between the EU and Canada will generate substantial new trade in goods and services as well as additional opportunities for investment.
