Exim Bank celebrates Bangabandhu's birth centenary

Guests and officials at an event, styled 'Mujib Shotoborshe Exim Bank', organised by the bank at the Bangladesh Army Stadium in Dhaka on Saturday.

Export Import Bank of Bangladesh Limited (Exim Bank) organised a day-long event at the Bangladesh Army Stadium in Dhaka on Saturday, marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Foreign Minister Dr A K Abdul Momen was present as the chief guest at the event, styled 'Mujib Shotoborshe Exim Bank', said a press release.

Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, chief coordinator of the National Implementation Committee for the Celebration of Mujib Borsho (the birth centenary of Bangabandhu), was present at the event as a special guest.

Exim Bank Chairman Md Nazrul Islam Mazumder, who also heads the bank owners' group Bangladesh Association of Banks (BAB), presided over the function, while the bank's Managing Director and CEO Dr Mohammed Haider Ali Miah spoke on the occasion.

Padma Bank Chairman Chowdhury Nafeez Sarafat, members of Exim Bank's Board of Directors Mohammad Abdullah, Mohammad Shahidullah, Md Nurul Amin Faruk, Major (Retd) Khandaker Nurul Afser, Lt. Col. (Retd) Serajul Islam BP (BAR) and Khandakar Mohammed Saiful Alam, and the bank's Additional Managing Director Md Feroz Hossain, among other high officials, were present on the occasion.

The event featured a variety of activities, including the display of the Mujib centenary human logo, created with the participation of Exim Bank officials.

At that time, about 4,000 balloons with the logo of the Mujib Borsho were flown together, the release added.
