Farida lauds China's achievements in poverty alleviation

The China-Dhaka Day was celebrated at North South University in the capital on Thursday.

Fisheries and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhter, on Thursday, said that China was making remarkable progress day by day, particularly in poverty alleviation, where it has achieved significant success. Millions of people in the country have lifted themselves out of poverty.

Bangladesh, she said, should follow China's example in combating poverty.

She made these remarks at the China-Dhaka Day celebration held at North South University in the capital.

The Adviser said the Chief Adviser recently visited China, during which eight agreements and memoranda of understanding were signed between the two countries.

"We expect that relations between the two nations will advance even further in the coming days," she added.

Commenting on the future of bilateral ties, Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen said relations between Bangladesh and China are set to reach new heights.

He noted that this year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the

two countries. "Our ties are deepening day by day.

Cooperation in education and culture is expanding. We want to move forward together on the path of peace and prosperity," he said.
