Insolvent Freedom Fighters and their family members will get interest-free loans from both public and private banks, Finance Minister AMA Muhith told the Jatiya Sangsad on Sunday, reports BSS.
"The government has a plan to provide insolvent Freedom Fighters and their family members with interest-free loan from the state-owned and private banks under their CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) programme," the minister said while replying to a question from the treasury bench member Nizam Uddin Hazari.
The minister said the government was also considering interest-free loan for insolvent Freedom Fighters for raising cows. Bangladesh Krishi Bank and Janata Bank would offer the loan under their regular credit activities or CSR programme.
He said there would have been some new programmes too to support education of the daughters and sons of the needy Freedom Fighters.
