Five-day BSEC workshop concludes in Chittagong

CHITTAGONG, Feb 3: There is no alternative to building up an innovative workforce to serve the people of the country and its services should be taken to the doorsteps of the people through the public administration. Speakers expressed the views at a five-day workshop of Bangladesh Steel and Engineering Corporation (BSEC) of the Ministry of Industries which concluded in the port city recently.

Jointly organised by the Access to Information (A2I) programme under the Prime Minister's Office and the Cabinet Division, 24 trainees from different organisations under the BSEC participated in the workshop.

Md Enamul Haque, Secretary (acting) of the Ministry of Industries, inaugurated the workshop as the chief guest at the Eastern Cables Limited auditorium at Patenga. BSEC Chairman (acting) Seema Saha and ADC (revenue) of Rajshahi Md Sabet Ali were present as the special guests.

BSEC secretary Dr Md Amirul Momin, Managing Director of Eastern Cables Ltd Engineer Ushamay Chakma and managing directors of other organisations also attended the programme and spoke. In his address, Industries Secretary (acting) Enamul Haque said there is no alternative to building up an innovative workforce for rendering services to the people of the country and it should be taken to the doorsteps of the people through the public administration.

He hoped that the workshop will have a positive impact on the people. BSEC Chairman (acting) Seema Saha emphasised on adapting the administration with the changing time through training to achieve the growth target as envisaged by the government.
