Free computer training course begins

SHERPUR, Jan 6 (BSS): A two-month free computer training course began here today aimed at making poor students familiar with information technology (IT) and computer system in the district.

Chief Executive Officer of Sherpur Zila Parishad Ehsanul Pervez formally inaugurated the computer training course as the chief guest while computer trainer Farzana Siddika was present.

A total of 60 trainees from different schools and colleges are taking part in the training divided into three batches under the project of Zila Parisad.

The Zila Parishad will also distribute certificate among the trainees after successfully completion the course.

Meanwhile, the government provided 60 different types of government and non-government services to people without any hassle and expenses through Union Digital Centres (UDCs) across the country.

The UDCs are gradually turning into service-oriented social institutions by giving IT-based services as well as solving different problems of rural people.
