Gold prices rise by Tk 6,590 per bhori

FE REPORT
The prices of gold at the local market have increased after four consecutive reductions, with the rate of 22-carat gold rising by Tk 6,590 per bhori.
Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) in a press release issued on Saturday said following the latest adjustment, the price of 22-carat gold now stands at Tk 224,940 per bhori (11.664 grams).
Earlier, BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring at a meeting chaired by its Chairman Dr Dewan Aminul Islam Shahin decided on raising the prices of gold.
BAJUS said the revised prices came into effect at 10:00 am on Saturday.
It attributed the latest adjustment to a rise in the price of pure gold at the local market, prompting it to revise gold rates after considering the overall market situation.
Earlier, gold prices fell on four occasions on June 2, 6, 10 and 11, resulting in a cumulative decrease of Tk 19,771.
So far in 2026, BAJUS has revised gold prices 74 times. Of those adjustments, prices were increased on 38 occasions and reduced 36 times.
