Gold prices rise in local market

The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has increased gold prices for the second consecutive day, raising the price of 22-carat gold by Tk 2,741 per bhori following a rise in the local price of pure gold.
In a notice issued on Wednesday, BAJUS said the revised prices took effect from 10:00am.
Under the new rates, 22-carat gold will cost Tk 224,182 per bhori (11.664 grams), inclusive of value-added tax (VAT).
The price of 21-carat gold has been set at Tk 214,093 per bhori, while 18-carat gold will sell for Tk 183,883 per bhori. Traditional gold will cost Tk 150,232 per bhori.
