Govt makes mask use mandatory at places of worship

FE REPORT | November 09, 2020 00:00:00

The Ministry of Religious Affairs on Sunday ordered all the religious groups and their places of worship to strictly maintain the face mask wearing guidelines.

The order came in a notification from the ministry as part of the measures to fight second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.

According to the order, people are found reluctant to wear face masks in places, including in the places of worship, despite repeated government orders to wear face masks to stop spread of the deadly infectious disease.

The government order also asked all religious places of worship, including mosques, temples, churches and pagodas, to display the notice of mandatory wearing of face mask on their main entrance.

Besides, worship places will have to regularly announce the government order to wear face masks before coming out from home and entering those places.

Bangladesh registered 18 more deaths and nearly 1,500 infections in the past 24 hours until Sunday morning.
