Govt plans to produce 0.1m jute made polybags per day

With an aim to disseminate environment-friendly jute made polythene bags across the country, Textiles and Jute Minister Golam Dastigir Gazi has said the government has taken a pilot project for producing 0.1 million (one lakh) pieces of jute-made 'sonali bag' in a day, reports BSS.

He disclosed this while responding to a starred question made by treasury bench lawmaker Begum Adiba Anjum Mita of Women seat-37 in the Jatiya Sangsad (Parliament).

The minister mentioned that the government will start large sale commercial production of the jute made 'sonali' bag after the expiry of the pilot project, adding that "it is underway to produce 1.0 lakh pieces of 'sonali' bag under the project."
