Govt sets instance of massive uplift schemes: Shahriar

RAJSHAHI, Sept 21 (BSS): State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam, MP, said the present government has set instance of implementing massive development schemes across the country.
People are witnessing remarkable success in various need-oriented fields like poverty alleviation, education, health, agriculture, power supply and communication.
Besides, he said the Bangladesh is now knocking the door of Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and the nation is being adjudged and acclaimed as unique model of development in the world.
The state minister revealed this while addressing as the chief guest a number of public gatherings to mark the inauguration of different projects in Bagha and Charghat upazilas of the district Saturday.
He opened the works of two village roads being implemented at a cost of around Tk 8.0 million by Local Government Engineering Department. Besides, he switched on a Tk 6.20 million rural electrification scheme.
The six-kilometre distribution line creates connection scopes of 423 consumers.
Shahriar Alam said the Awami League government has a national uplift plan until 2041 that will take forward the country.
He expressed his firm commitment to work for local development and peoples' welfare.
