Govt trying to make local industries profitable, says Amu

GAZIPUR, Feb 8 (BSS): Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu said on Sunday the government is trying to make the local industries profitable to reduce reliance on foreign countries.
The minister was talking to journalists after visiting three units of Bangladesh Steel and Engineering Corporation (BSEC) at Tongi.
Mr Amu visited different departments of these units - National Tubes Limited, Bangladesh Blade Factory Limited and Atlas Bangladesh Limited - and expressed his satisfaction over their activities
Local lawmaker M Jahid Ahsan Rasel, BSEC chairman M Imtiaz Hossain Chowdhury, managing director of National Tubes Dr Aminul Momin, managing director of Bangladesh Blade Factory M Aluzzaman and managing director of Atlas Bangladesh Limited Engineer M Abul Kashem were present on the occasion.
The industries minister later joined a human chain formed in front of the Atlas Bangladesh protesting the ongoing violence.
