Palak says they should not just run for jobs

'Govt wants to train young entrepreneurs to make them successful'

The government wants the young entrepreneurs of the country not just to run for jobs but also willing to train them to become successful entrepreneurs, State Minister for Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak said at an event in the city.

Palak also said that a lot of initiatives have been taken for making turning the country a Digital Bangladesh.

He was speaking as the chief guest at the Startup Accelerator launching programme, organised by the Bangladesh University at the Krishibid Institution in Khamar Bari area, reports BSS.

The goal of Startup Accelerator is to foster and nurture local entrepreneur and innovative ecosystem within Bangladesh and beyond.

It helps to build regional and global connectivity among investors, entrepreneurs, professionals and provide a collaboration platform for all participants in the ecosystem. Bangladesh University has first started its journey as a startup among all the universities of the country.

Earlier, this university created app like e-heart and 3D printer and gained many accolades, the state minister said.

If an entrepreneur is successful, many employment opportunities will be created and innovative entrepreneurs will play a vital role to reach the target of achieving the status of middle-income country by 2021 and rich country by 2041, Palak commented.

He continued, the government will help to make IT-based youth entrepreneur. The present government will provide financial assistance to create 1,000 start-ups in Bangladesh by 2021.

He also highlighted the government's strategies and limitless prospects in this sector to boost up the economy and mentioned the importance of ideas of quantum computing, nanotech and fintech in his speech.

He also assured the Bangladesh University students of steps to set up an IT library for them. He also appreciated the BUP authority for taking initiative to provide this sort of opportunities for youths.
