Govt working for proper use of industrial plots : Amu

RAJSHAHI, Mar 8 (BSS) : Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu Sunday said the present government is very much committed to ensure proper utilisation of allocated plots for industrial purpose.

He said the government has given special emphasis on building planned industrial estates throughout the country to attain the goal of sustainable and eco-friendly industrialisation.

He was addressing the grand opening of Human Hauler Industry in the city by Nitol-Niloy Group under the banner of "Niloy-Usmaan Motor Industries Limited" in Rajshahi BSCIC Industrial Estate as the chief guest with Abdul Matlub Ahmed, chairman of Nitol-Niloy Group, in the chair.

Omor Faruk Chowdhury, MP, former Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, Ayen Uddin, MP, BSCIC Chairman Ahmed Hossain Khan, Commissioner of Rajshahi division Helaluddin Ahmed, Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Md Shamsuddin and President of Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Md Muniruzzaman also spoke.

 Mr Amu said the present government has a separate view-point towards Rajshahi's development and intends to accelerate its socio-economic improvement through the best use of the existing industrial potentialities.

He said the government has adopted a project for establishing another BSCIC estate in Rajshahi on 50 acres of land at a cost of around Tk 1.32 billion (Tk 132 crore), which will generate new employment for around 5,000 people of the region.

Expressing his special thanks to the Nitol-Niloy Group for their venture he urged other major entrepreneurs to set up more industries in Rajshahi.

Official sources said the factory has been set up on around two acres of land with a very modern and advanced technology to meet the ever increasing demand of transport facility
