Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun on Monday said his ministry would work with the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) to advance the country's economy and maintain the business-friendly environment, reports BSS.
"The government is taking multidimensional initiatives to improve the business environment in the country," he said during a meeting with FBCCI President Mahbubul Alam at the Industries Ministry in the city, said a press release.
Mahbubul Alam urged the minister to take initiatives on a priority basis to install modern equipment and increase testing capacity of the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) laboratory located in Chattogram port.
He also called for updating the existing industrial policies and increasing the efficiency of Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) industrial cities.
FBCCI Senior Vice President Md Amin Helaly was present at the meeting.
