Govt's purchase committee approves 4 proposals

The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) today approved four proposals, including one for improving the Dhaka Water Supply network under Dhaka WASA, reports BSS.
The approval came from the 28th CCGP meeting in the current year held virtually with Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal in the chair.
Briefing reporters virtually after the meeting, Kamal informed that out of the four procurement proposals, two were from the Local Government Division and one each from the Ministry of Water Resources and the Road Transport and Highways Division.
"These four procurement proposals involve a total estimated cost of around Taka 428.99 crore. Out of that amount, around Taka 176.15 crore will come from the government of Bangladesh while the remaining around Taka 252.84 crore as loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB)," he added.
Revealing the details of the proposals, Cabinet Division Additional Secretary Dr Abu Saleh Mostafa Kamal informed that the lowest bidder Ludwing Pfeiffer Hochund Tiefbau GmbH & Co. KG, Germany will implement the package no - ICB-02.12 under the "Dhaka Water Supply Network Improvement" project under Dhaka WASA with a cost of around Taka 164.09 crore.
Under the package, some 163.95 KM water supply line will be rehabilitated under Mods Zone-7 side by side seven District Metered Area (DMA) will be commissioned alongside network operation until one year with necessary maintenance work.
He informed that the CCGP meeting approved a proposal for appointing project implementation support consultant to the joint venture of Development Design Consultants Ltd. Bangladesh, GITEC-IGIP GmbH, Germany, Dev Consultants Limited, Bangladesh and Resource Planning and Management Consultants (Pvt) Ltd. Bangladesh for the "Rural Connectivity Improvement Project" with a cost of around Taka 88.75 crore.
The meeting also gave nod to a proposal for appointing the joint venture of LA and TTLA as the contractor for the Package No-BRRP-CCB-/17-18/-Lot-03 under the "Buriganga River Reclamation (New Dhaleswari-Pungli-Bongshai-Turag-Buriganga River System (2nd revised)" project with a cost of around Taka 50.62 crore.
Besides, the meeting approved another proposal for awarding the contract to the lowest responsive bidder, the joint venture of Ataur Rahman Khan Ltd and Mahabub Brothers (Pvt) Ltd. for the package No-WP-01 under the upgradation of Monihar to Murali portion of the Palbari-Doratana-Monihar-Murali National Highway (N-707) to four-lane with a cost of around Taka 125.52 crore.
Prior to the CCGP meeting, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs meeting was held today virtually with Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal in the chair.
The meeting approved a proposal in principle for following the Direct Procurement Method (DPM) on emergency purpose in favour of Belgium-based dredging company Jan De Nul under the "Emergency maintenance dredging (inner and outer channel) at Rabnabad channel of Payra Port" project.
