GP to launch affordable SMS service for roaming customers

Grameenphone Ltd is going to launch an economic SMS service for its outbound roaming customers from  Thursday (today), reports UNB.

This new service will allow the roaming customers of Grameenphone to send SMS to any Bangladeshi mobile number from abroad at only Tk 2 (VAT applicable).

Outbound Roamers of Grameenphone will be able to send maximum 5 Economic SMSes per day. To send an Economic SMS, a roamer has to dial in a short-code number (*111*5*9#), typing in the destination number and message text (separated by a -) of maximum 140 characters within a 1 minute time window.
