CHATTOGRAM, June 07: GPH Ispat Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) over bearing maintenance cost of the 10 smart school buses donated by the Prime Minister for Chattogram.

BRTC Sub-depot Manager Zulfikar Ali and GPH Ispat Adviser Shaukat Osman signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations at a programme at Chattogram Deputy Commissioner's office on Thursday afternoon.

Deputy commissioner of Chattogram Abul Basar Mohammad Fakhruzzaman was present at the function as the chief guest.

Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner (education and ICT) Sadiur Rahim Jadid, Advisor to GPH Ispat Ltd Colonel (Retd) Mohammad Shawkat Osman, Advisor (media) Mohammad Osman Gani, and Manager of BRTC, Chattogram, Md Zulfikar Ali were present.

Abul Bashar Mohammed Fakhruzza-man said that students can travel by these buses on the city roads very much comfortably.

The buses are equipped with smart technology, GPS tracker, camera and AI to provide automatic SMS to the parents' phones while getting on and off.

As per the MoU, GPH Ispat Limited will give Tk14.4 million (Tk1.44 crore) for maintenance of the school busses including fuel cost and paying wages of the staff for the next two years.
