Dhaka West VAT Zone of the revenue authority has filed a case against HEED International School, an English medium school operating in the city's Mirpur area, on allegation of evading Tk 11.80 million worth of VAT (value added tax).
The case was filed on Tuesday, after an audit team of the zone finding that the school evaded the VAT during the period from 2013 to 2018, said a press release.
The audit team found that the HEED International School authority had not deposited the said amount of VAT after deducting at source from various services accordingly.
Earlier, the zone of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) filed a case against Methodist English Medium School on allegation of dodging VAT amounting to Tk 8.0 million, it added.
